SPRING KING unveil new video for ‘Mumma/Mumma pt. II’

‘Mumma’ is the debut single from Manchester’s Spring King, a dose of raucous garage rock brilliance with some early Arcade Fire piano bashing. Inspired by the phrase ‘she must have got it from her mother’, the narrative of the track is based around a girl struggling with addiction.

The video was made by Patryk Bychowski, who the band met at a party in a car park in Poland after bonding over a mutual love of Ariel Pink and lots of vodka. The band gave Patryk full artistic direction with the video allowing him to create something distinctly un-nerving, what he describes as somewhere between Death Grips and Toy Story. The video merges into a contrasting video for the B side of the single, which was directed by Jodie Canwell.

Spring King is Tarek Musa (producer, vocals and drummer), Anna B Savage (keyboards, vocals), Peter Darlington (guitar, vocals), Andy Morton (guitar) and James Green (bass).
