Steve Wilson Comes to Spokane
Get ready Spokane, because Steve Wilson is coming to you faster than two shakes of a lamb’s tale on December 17th. For more than 30 years, the artist has been bringing the cream of progressive rock to the masses, who haven’t seen anything of the like it since… well… Cream.
Wilson’s career began humbly enough moonlighting in various bands as a teenager. He got his first major break with Porcupine Tree in 1987. What began as a solo act expanded into a band that blew away the cheesy 1980’s pop with throw backs to the complicated and lush concept albums of Pink Floyd. The group officially disbanded in 2010, but between and around then Wilson has been a member of No-Man, I.E.M., Bass Communion, Blackfield, and Storm Corrosion. In addition to ALL of that, he has also collaborated with Opeth, King Crimson, Pendulum, Jethro Tull, Andy Partridge, Yes, Marillion, Tears for Fears, Roxy Music and Anathema. Wowza. Or to sum up excellently ala the The Daily Telegraph, Wilson is “the most successful British artist you’ve never heard of.”
But now you know, so if you’re in the Spokane area, you can see him perform at the Bing Crosby theatre this Saturday. Tickets retail for $35 with doors opening at 7:00pm and can be purchased here
