“The group infuses every moment…with movement – skittering beats, elastic basslines, snappy guitar riffs, ecstatic sing-a-long, all with the goal of making their audiences uncross their arms and maybe even dance.” – Pitchfork

“Still Flyinʼ know how to party in sweet, sweet style.” – Rockfeedback

San Franciscoʼs Still Flyinʼ are set to release their new single ‘Spirits’ on the 4th June and have unveiled a stream of the single today, following on from premieres on Nylon and Sexbeat. While soaring choral harmonies root ‘Spirits’ and ‘Travelinʼ Man’ in Still Flyinʼs party-filled past, the songwriting and production evolved from 2010ʼs ‘Neu Ideas’ releases, layering 80s pop synths with longing and melancholy so profound its sure to send shivers up your spine. The song speaks of the fraught dichotomy between wanderlust and domesticity – a regular experience for most touring musicians, but a sentiment beautifully stated here. The track was recorded and mixed by Haima Marriott of Architecture in Helsinki fame.

Still Flyinʼ has been redefining indie-pop since 2004, drawing inspiration from mainstream pop, camaraderie and the best times ever. Led by Sean Rawls of Masters of the Hemisphere, 2009ʼs much-loved debut ‘Never Gonna Touch the Ground’ established the bandʼs fun-loving credo, and saw them touring the world with a little help from the likes of Isobel Knowles (Architecture in Helsinki), Mark Monnone (Lucksmiths), Josephine Olausson (Love is All), Gary Olson (Ladybug Transistor) and Yoshi Nakamoto (Aisler Set).

2012 sees the band streamlining their setup to bring a tight new ethos to their production and song craft, mixed with a healthy dose of ingenuity and fun.
