Stimulator Jones’ musicality shines on this EP as does his R&B take on “Unsatisfied.” Says Sam on the release, “This is a collection of loose tracks, some of where were recording during the session for ‘Exotic Worlds and Masterful Treasures.’ The Replacements are one of my favorite rock & roll groups and one day out of nowhere I was sort of humming to myself and absent-mindedly singing the lyrics to ‘Unsatisfied’ in the style of an R&B slow jam. I then began imagining what the whole song would sound like with that sort of vibe – I could hear the finished product in my head and I thought it would work pretty well – so one day I sat down and layer-by-layer I arranged and recorded it in the style you hear.”
Stimulator Jones will hit the road this Sunday for a North American tour with Stones Throw labelmates Kiefer, Jerry Paper and Prophet. Find all confirmed dates below.
