After touring the UK, USA and Europe South Wales’s Straight Lines have returned to the studio to record their first collection of songs in three years. The band’s new EP ‘Reflect’ will be released 24 February.
Straight Lines early success has included supporting acts such as Kids in Glass Houses, Less Than Jake, InME and Motorhead, as well as appearing on BBC Radio 1 Introducing Live from Maida Vale Studios, and performing at festivals such as Download and SXSW.
The now three-piece band has taken a slight departure from their signature melodic hooks to experiment with time signatures and song structures. This progression is evidence of a the band’s evolution and the development of their sound, but fans of their former sound will still find strong melodies in amongst the pounding guitars and solid drums.
Straight Lines has entirely self-funded the release of ‘Reflect’, which was recorded and produced by bassist Todd Campbell at Sqwad HQ. The EP features the first single ‘No Words of Wisdom’ and a video (below) for the title track.
The band will be touring across the UK in support of their new EP in March, with dates in London, Glasgow, Newcastle, Birmingham, Manchester, Milton Keynes and finishing off with a home-town show in Cardiff.
