Critically-acclaimed Norwegian artist Susanne Sundfør, currently riding an international wave of praise for her new album Ten Love Songs (out now) and coming off a triumphant sold-out show at London’s Scala Theater earlier this month will soon be hitting US shores for a short run of dates, hitting New York, LA and San Francisco.
As complex and gorgeously orchestrated as Susanne’s recorded work is, her live energy must be witnessed to be understood. Pairing flawlessly with electronic and symphonic elements, her soprano pierces through the instrumentals with an impossible clarity. For a taste of what to expect from her live experience, take a look at appearances with M83 and Röyksopp. See Susanne live on both coasts, all dates below.
Sundfør’s latest LP Ten Love Songs draws on the musical assistance both of new friends and old, (including Anthony Gonzalez of M83, Svein and Torbjorn from Röyksopp, her long-term collaborator Lars Horntveth of Jaga Jazzist, and the TrondheimsolisteneChamber Ensemble). The album was recorded, orchestrated and produced by Sundfør herself, resulting in her most compelling and fully realized work to date.
