Suuns’ new album ‘Images du Futur’ is available for streaming today at Deezer in the UK and Ireland a week in advance of its official release on Secretly Canadian. The band will follow up release with a long run of dates, starting in their native Canada followed by several shows at Austin’s SXSW and continuing through North America and Europe.

Suuns’ second full-length album, ‘Images du Futur’, will be released by Secretly Canadian on 4th March 2013 in the UK, 5th March in the US and by Secret City Records on the same date in the band’s native Canada. The record is available for pre-order at iTunes, Amazon and Secretly Canadian Distribution.

The band also recently premiered the video for their second single, ‘2020’. Directed by artist Sabrina Ratté, the black and white set piece is a dazzling combination of shifting geometric shapes and patterns mixed with the band’s dissected live performance.

Suuns say, “Sabrina is a good friend and an amazing video artist. We’ve wanted to work with her for some time and this video was the ideal project. We shot some shots and she did her thing. What a trip.” Like a desaturated trip to the Black Lodge, the video strobes to the woozy and vaguely sinister sound of ‘2020.’

As mentioned above, the Montreal quartet are due to set off on a worldwide tour, starting in Quebec 3rd March, heading to the USA for SXSW and Austin Psych Fest plus a tour with Besnard Lakes throughout March and April. Suuns reach Europe and the UK by late April/May before returning Stateside to play Sasquatch. Full details are below, including a London XOYO show on the 14th May.

“… [their] debut is at once bleak, haunting and heavy as fuck… You’d be hard pushed to find a better band from Canada….” – NME – Best New Band of 2011

“The gentle psychedelia of Suuns is perfectly suited to the placid, unsettling visions that vocalist Ben Shemie is singing about here.” – Pitchfork

“Suuns is clearly still making music that grabs your insides first and then engages your brain after, just on this one effort, they are doing it in a gentler, more restrained way—like the stroke of a lion’s paw before it unfurls its claws and tears your heart out.” – Noisey

“[M for Montreal] showcase sets can often stifle the energy out of bands, but Suuns crushed their 25 minutes, their menacing groove seemingly intensified.” Brooklyn Vegan
