BUY: Tickets to LOVE YOU DOWN Festival

Today we are given our first look into SWIMM’s bold new creative direction via “First Time” from their highly-anticipated debut full-length due out later this year. “First Time” is sensuality incarnate. Chris Hess’ vocals glide over intricate layers of sultry, ethereal rhodes piano synths, a bouncing bassline and percussive cornerstone that holds the track together for a controlled release; completing the tantric vision. You can stream “First Time” now on Spotify or Soundcloud and it is available for download on iTunes.

“First Time” comes just before the Love You Down mini-fest that the band has organized at the Hi-Hat on Saturday April 8th to celebrate their adopted hometown and all of the friends, peers and supporters that make it such a special place. Love You Down will span two stages and feature live performances from SWIMM and six other local artists. There will also be DJ sets from Gardens & Villa, Jenny Lee (of Warpaint) and KCRW’s Aaron Byrd. Tickets are on sale now.

The city of Los Angeles is deeply woven into SWIMM’s story. Since relocating to LA, both the beautiful, open-minded side of the city and it’s sometimes vapid plasticity have served as muses for the band’s music. In its creative community, SWIMM’s Chris Hess and Adam Winn have found a family that has propelled them to push the artistic envelope at each turn in their story. These influences will be even more evident on their upcoming debut album, for which “First Time” is the lead single. Stay tuned for more info on SWIMM’s new record and if you’re in the LA area make sure to grab tickets to Love You Down as it’s certainly an experience you won’t want to miss!
