“Its synthetic sounds soon emerge full force, with BØRNS lending an entirely new verse at the center of the track. It’s apparent that the song’s meaning for the band has only grown over time.”Interview Magazine
“Sparkly synth-pop with a chorus that erupts like a flare in the inky night sky.” – Noisey
“This thing is huge, stretching out quickly like a growth spurt in an unsuspecting teenager. But there are no growing pains or cracked voices here.” – Stereogum
“A safari of sounds… Lonely Cities is a glorious mix of everything you need on a summer afternoon.”Triple J
“This quartet from Sydney, Australia is starting to heat up. Tigertown prove you can still have fun while you’re lonely, with an infectious intensity to their group-singing and nimble rhythm guitars.”Pigeons + Planes

“It may be their first international release, but “Bullet From The Gun” makes it clear that they’re aware of their full potential and not even the sky is the limit.”FADER

About

Sydney alt pop foursome Tigertown release their Papernote EP, which includes radiant new single “Papernote” and a brilliant reimagination courtesy of BØRNS and Tommy English, featuring a brand new verse from BØRNS himself. The EP is out now via Neon Gold / Atlantic Records ahead of a sold out European tour supporting Panic! At The Disco kicking off this weekend. To celebrate the release last week, Interview Magazine premiered the BØRNS x Tommy English remix of “Papernote” here.
Lead single “Papernote” is a pop supernova recorded across four continents, built around a two-bar loop from Zimbabwe guitar legend Oliver Mtukudzi that lays the foundation for a stadium-size melody that shimmers with contagious elation. Boasting production from Iceland’s Siggi with additional touches from LA hitmakers Captain Cuts (Walk The Moon, Halsey, Tove Lo), it’s as urgent as a valentine in neon lights, radiating affection that no listener can resist. Rounding out the Papernote EP is “Take Me Away,” a crystalline shot of devotion produced by 18 year old Austrian wunderkind Filous and recorded during a week spent on the western coast of Nicaragua last winter, and the technicolor “What You Do”, recorded in the band’s Sydney studio and polished off under the LA sun by principal BØRNS collaborator Tommy English.

Already boasting a dedicated following and Triple J support in their native Australia, 2016 finds the Australian family band setting their sights on the international spotlight, touring the globe with the likes of Troye Sivan, St. Lucia and MS MR. Carrying on from the euphoric highs of their debut Lonely Cities EP and it’s wildfire single of the same name (8 million streams and counting), the band embarked on a series of globetrotting collaborations that helped to further crystallize the anthemic, jetsetting, Tigertown sound.
The band’s full-length debut is planned for early 2017.
