TEN FÉ – ‘Make Me Better’ Streaming from 27th July 2015 / Headline Autumn EU Dates

TEN FÉ is Ben and Leo from London. This, their first single ‘Make Me Better’, is the first glimpse of a debut album, recorded over a year in Berlin, with producer Ewan Pearson (Jagwar Ma, M83, The Rapture). Formerly known as Fé, the band emerged in late 2013 with their impeccable debut single ‘Time’ released on Bad Life (Petite Noir, Mai Kino), earning them a BBC Maida Vale session, a run of festivals including Bestival, The Great Escape and The Reeperbahn Festival and a series of packed-out London shows.

Ben Moorhouse and Leo Duncan grew up 150 miles apart in London and Walsall but have been inseparable since meeting ten years ago.  They began playing together and rocking parties around London from steel meat containers to mates’ garages.   After releasing ‘Time’ and soon after the ‘50/50’ EP, both produced by Luke Smith (Petite Noir, Foals, Depeche Mode) on London label Bad Life (Petite Noir, Attaque, Whitey, D/R/U/G/S, Mai Kino), their “darkly romantic” blend of electronic rock n roll was declared to be “irresistible” by NME. The band were supported early on by Lauren Laverne and BBC 6Music which led them to being asked to perform in session for Rob Da Bank at the legendary BBC Maida Vale studios.

After playing a sold-out Hoxton show and weekly residencies in a Haggerston basement club, Ben and Leo’s attention was grabbed by the electronic music scene of Berlin where they set up camp for a few months in Friedrichshain. Soon after, they ended up on the bill at the Berghain and Fluxbau and moved in with legendary producer, Ewan Pearson.   Ewan, who had recently finished working with Jagwar Ma, recorded Ben and Leo in a studio built into the Berlin HQ of Kompakt Records.  The resultant sessions brought about an album infused with electronics, an obvious influence from the city but still full of the band’s signature psychedelia, melody and harmony.

It was after their epic spell in Berlin that Fé became TEN FÉ.

Ten Fé’s anthemic new single ‘Make Me Better’ marries a thick, deep groove with a massive string hook and droning shoegaze guitars. As ever, the intense harmony between the duo takes centre-stage, in what feels like a euphoric classic-in-waiting.
