Terrathorn – ‘The Watcher’

The Watcher is the most recent single release from Terrathorn, a five piece metalcore act from Southampton. Mixing current hardcore styles with old school riffs and solos the five piece are not to be taken lightly.  The Watcher is a three minute and fifty second experience of musical diversity at its finest. Terrathorn don’t experiment with any vocal harmonies or singing to screaming choruses in this track, it is simple all out, in your face vocal aggression.

The only let up this song has is during the guitar solo which is anything but down beat. This proves that although mainly hardcore influence Terrathorn are able to take the guitar techniques that started the metal genre decades ago and twist it into their own beast.

I’m hoping this isn’t the last that I hear of Terrathorn. If you like bands such as Hatebreed and Biohazard then Terrathorn are definitely worth checking out. 7/10
