THE BERMONDSEY JOYRIDERS JOIN THE COCKNEY REJECTS AT LONDON’S 100 CLUB ON OCT 6TH

The Bermondsey Joyriders are delighted to announce they will be appearing as Special Guests of The Cockney Rejects, when the Oi icons’ play London’s 100 Club this October.

An ideal and inspired match for the main act’s East End terrace chants, The ‘Joyriders share a certain ‘77 heritage with The ‘Rejects (frontman Gary Lammin, bassist Martin Stacey and drummer Chris Musto respectively cut their teeth in Strummer protégés Little Roosters, Chelsea and Johnny Thunders‘ Oddballs), but possess a distinctive style of showmanship that’s sure to keep punters on their toes. Since uniting as the ‘Joyriders this side of the new millennium, the veteran trio have blended the punk prototype with slide-blues sounds and a Kinks-esque vein of very British social commentary, fully realizing their bold vision on May’s second album ‘Noise & Revolution’. An ambitious concept piece featuring spoken word narration from MC5 manager and performance poet John Sinclair, the record won considerable critical acclaim upon release and a cult following, as the band proceeded to air it live and in full at a series of unconventional self-promoted gigs and happenings.

At next month’s show with The Cockney Rejects, The Bermondsey Joyriders will eagerly embrace an opportunity to take their radical revision of the Brit punk blueprint back to its roots. Indeed, vocalist and guitarist Gary Lammin has been a loyal supporter of the headliners since the very seeds of their now iconic story were sown. Speaking at the premiere of ‘Rejects biopic ‘East End Babylon’ in April, Gary revealed how he was so suitably impressed on first encountering the group in 1979 that he immediately set about securing what would be the classic line-up’s debut show at London’s Bridgehouse.

By inviting The Bermondsey Joyriders to join them in October, the ‘Rejects bring more than 30 years of mutual respect full-circle, and offer a double-dose of authentic East End flavour at;

6th October – LONDON, 100 Club

The following month will see the ‘Joyriders will be back on the London stage in November with The Vibrators. The one-off, hometown double-header happens at;
