The Catharsis – Romance

The Catharsis – Romance

From the opening of Romance through to it’s very end it is obvious that The Catharsis was a puppy that was weaned on the teat of bands such as Norma Jean and Will Haven. Over the years though The Catharsis have grown, matured and eventually became its own animal.

Ten tracks of pure filthy noise rock that it is impossible to not lose your shit to whilst listening to it. A band that is able to mix the filthy and brutality of hardcore along with the sex and sleaze of old school rock and roll.

Imagine steady guitar undertones that constantly explode into a spectrum of offensive noise over and over again for a beautiful thirty minutes. For a band like The Cartharsis it is more than a bit difficult to write a review as similar bands are few and far between if non existent.

This may not be the longest interview ever and it doesn’t need to be as this self released offering does the talking more than any writer could. ‘Romance’ consists of ten tracks that are full to the brim with aggression and angst that is anything but forced. 7.7/10
