The Charm The Fury – The Social Meltdown EP

The Charm the Fury are a five piece alternative act from the Netherlands who encapsulate the up beat speed of the hardcore genre whilst encapsulating the melody of the metalcore genre. They stand out from the crowd immediately as their “front man” who screams and snarls through out their songs is a front woman.

The Charm The Fury are proof that the Netherlands are home to some fabulous music as well as tulips, windmills and sickly sweet smelling cafes. The structure of second track Virtue of Leader shows the band at their most brutal where as “Family Values” contains a pop driven chorus that differs entirely from the verse.

The Social Meltdown is proof that The Charm The Fury have no limits or boundaries to their song writing bow. If you think of something that lies somewhere between Tennessee pop punkers Paramore and one of Canada’s finest exports Cancer Bats you still won’t be close to the sound of The Charm The Fury.

If you like your music loud and abrasive with an upbeat edge then The Charm The Fury are a band definitely worth checking out. 7.75/10
