Never afraid to push the boundaries, The Gooch Palms just dropped their latest single and it’s a little different from their previous releases. “Slow Burner is the kind of song we’ve been wanting to make for a long time” says Leroy Macqueen of the new single. “Working with producer Bill Skibbe (The Kills, Black Keys, Protomartyr) gave us the confidence to try something different. We love pop music and that’s no secret, so we are really excited to get this one out there.” Slow Burner was recorded in a two week studio session at Key Club Recording Studios in Michigan, and is one of 13 songs the band laid down for upcoming album, Introverted Extroverts (to be released next year).
It’s been a busy year for the Gooch Palms – the rambunctious duo relocated from Australia earlier this year to sunny Los Angeles and have been making waves across the country ever since. They have played over 80 shows across North America, including, most recently, Echo Park Rising in Los Angeles and Burger Boogaloo in Oakland, and have just headed out on the road again for the single launch. This time, they’ve taken their new synthesizer (featured on Slow Burner and a few other new tunes) along for the ride!
