THE LUMINEERS ANNOUNCE CANADIAN TOUR DATES
MASSIVE PERFORMANCES ON THE GRAMMYS AND ELLEN; 2 GRAMMY NODS
“HO HEY” AND SELF-TITLED DEBUT LP JUMPS FROM #5 TO #1 ON iTUNES POST-GRAMMYS PERFORMANCE
(Toronto, ON) – On the heels of their debut self-titled album being certified PLATINUM in Canada, and massive performances on The Grammys and Ellen, Denver-based The Lumineers have announced a North American East Coast tour including dates in Canada. Watch The Lumineers’ Grammy performance here, and Ellen here.
Nominated for Best New Artist and Best Americana Album, the band’s performance on this year’s broadcast really resonated with the audience. Their breakthrough single, “Ho Hey”, as well as self-titled debut LP jumped from #5 to #1 on the iTunes singles chart as of February 11, the day after the broadcast (which some refer to as the “Grammys iTunes bump”). Post-Grammys, The Lumineers also performed on Emmy award-winning Ellen. Add to the list a recent appearance as musical guests on Saturday Night Live, and a #1 single in Canada on all radio formats, the band has amassed some impressive accolades to say the least for a debut album that was only released in April, 2012.
A video for the single “Stubborn Love” recently premiered exclusively on VIACOM (Worldwide) as well as on MuchMusic, MuchMore, and MTV in Canada, and the song is already following in the footsteps of its predecessor at radio. More tour dates will be announced soon.
