The Orb celebrate 30 years with ‘30 Things’
Longstanding electronic heroes The Orb will be thanking fans for 30 fun-filled years with ‘30 Things’, some of which will be for sale, but much of which will be completely free, via social media.
In a generous and un-materialistic purge of his personal collection, Alex Paterson has decided to bequeath a hearty bounty of music, nick nacks, experiences, memorabilia and more. Much of these highly-collectible items are ultra rare – and in some cases – a complete one-off.

The ‘30 Things’ will be made available at regular intervals between now and summer 2019. More Things will be announced, but kicking-off on a good foot are:
A free download of a previously unreleased alternate remix of ‘Little Fluffy Clouds’ from 1991
Original ‘89 test pressing of The Orb and Andrew Weatherall mixes of ‘O Je Suis Seul’ by West India Company
An afternoon field recording with Alex
Acetate of previously unreleased AB mix of ‘95 ‘Orbus Terrarum’ album track ‘Plateau’, by The Orb
Guest DJ set with Alex on WNBC radio
Original 90s set lists, hand-written by Alex
Original fax from a sweary and stressed tour manager
Framed and unframed original vintage gig posters
Genuine sign from a closed pub called The Orb
Original ‘U.F. Orb’ poster, given away free with Select magazine in ’92 (no copies for sale anywhere online)
Orignal ’95 ‘Radio Orb’ remixes cassette (currently none for sale on Discogs)
The ‘Little Fluffy Clouds’ remix will be free for everyone to download. All of the other above Things can potentially be won. For details on getting the download and how to enter competitions for each of the other Things, visit The Orb’s Facebook and Twitter accounts.
Alex will also be trawling through a treasure trove of unearthed DATs, in the hope of releasing or giving away more absolute gems. Info TBA.
