The Polyphonic Spree Post ‘Yes, It’s True’ Video!

Texan choir return with their most accomplished record to date.

The Polyphonic Spree return after a five year hiatus with new album ‘Yes, It’s True’. The Psych-pop choir have had a rollercoaster ride since their debut ‘The Beginning Stages Of’ over a decade ago, starting out as interesting oddballs to become a hugely successful act. Now with three studio albums, countless TV and festival appearances under their belt including their legendary Glastonbury set, the band return with an album that is rather special.

The Texans new music is still heavily focused on melodies which always set them apart, but this new record sees their sound take a more accomplished form with additional instrumentation. The new record was produced by The Speekers which consists of the bands frontman, Tim DeLaughter and Julie Doyle alongside Eric Drew (Pj Harvey, Captain Beefheart) and Tim Palmer (U2, Pearl Jam). When asked about the acts new music frontman, DeLaughter explains:

“This record feels like a collection of “songs” rather than a long listening piece which we’ve done previously in the Spree stylistically. It’s kind of refreshing.”
