Manchester five-piece THE SLOW SHOW will release their new single Augustine on June 29th on Haldern Pop Recordings.

The follow up to recent single Bloodline, which received spins on BBC 6Music and Radio 2 – where the band recorded a session for Dermot O’Leary – Augustine is taken from the band’s acclaimed debut album White Water, which is out now.
The Slow Show recently unveiled a brilliant stop-motion video for album track Testing, directed by the animator Paul ‘Gripper’ Flannery, best known for his work for kids TV show Postman Pat. Watch here

Water was the first UK release on German label Haldern Pop Recordings, the label run by the team behind Haldern Pop Festival. The Slow Show will return to play the main stage Haldern Pop Festival this summer during a busy live schedule, which includes an upcoming headline European tour, including six UK shows. The band will round off their summer with an appearance at Rob De Bank’s much-loved Bestival on the Isle of Wight in September.

PRAISE FOR THE SLOW SHOW

Building from gentle, placid Americana to enormous choruses driven by the added bonus of a colliery brass band, The Slow Show have a deeply emotional impact” – Clash

“…a cocktail of The Tindersticks, The National (they are, after all, named from one of their songs), Lou Reed and Bowie, but without an obvious comparison to any of them” – folkradio.co.uk

What a voice. What an absolutely stunning voice. The Slow Show vocalist Rob Goodwin has one of the most mesmerising vocal styles you will ever listen tonativemonster.com
