The Spin: Your monthly music magazine
Cowabunga everybody! April has been a special month over at Rough Trade and it’s all thanks to you folks. Earlier this month we dropped another 10 records as part of the Rough Trade 50 series (and if you liked those, you’ll love what’s still to come).
Another Record Store Day has come and gone, and after all the early starts and the late nights, the smiling, laughing (and even a little crying), we say, this was the best one yet. Bring on 2027.
Thank you to everyone that celebrated with us on the day, but don’t be a stranger, you can hang with us anytime.
Beyond all the brouhaha, we have been spinning some fresh records getting us in the spirit for Spring. A few albums that have turned our heads have been the new ones from Deary, Gia Margaret, MIKE / Earl Sweatshirt / SURF GANG, Lime Garden, and Snocaps (we know that last one came out a while ago but we got it on wax now and it sounds even better.)
We’ve also gone polka-dot potty for math-funk maestros Angine De Poitrine. If you’re not familiar, what KEXP-proof rock have you been living under?

Well done you silly mooses, you’ve made it to the end, and if you haven’t had your head blown off by the lethally sick Angine De Poitrine, now’s your chance. Much funk everyone.
