The Supernaturals – Show Tunes

The Supernaturals release new album Show Tunes this Friday 2 May 2025. Digital single Don’t Let The Past Catch Up With You was released on 10 April to coincide with a recent mini tour across Scotland. Show Tunes is available on limited edition white vinyl with obi strip and CD with alternative artwork. The 14 track album is released with Last Night From Glasgow and pressed at Seabass Vinyl in Scotland. The new album features previously released tracks Burn the Witch and Roy Wouldn’t.
Known as one of Britpop’s best kept secrets, The Supernaturals gained a cult following in the 90s for their catchy, relatable guitar pop. The band emerged in 1993, releasing their debut album It Doesn’t Matter Anymore in 1997. The album, which included hit single Smile, gained critical acclaim and reached No. 9 in the UK Albums Chart. It was re-issued in 2023 by LNFG to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its release. The band split after releasing their third LP in 2002 but reformed 10 years later, releasing a further three albums.
The Supernaturals play the Pearce Institute on 31 May as part of Glasgow’s 850th birthday celebrations. They are set to headline Saint Luke’s in Glasgow once again in December 2025, following the success of their hometown gig at the venue in 2024
The album is lovingly dedicated to the band’s original guitarist Derek McManus who passed in 2022, “who always encouraged us to write, what he called Show Tunes”.
