THERE’S JUST FOUR WEEKS TO GO UNTIL CAMP BESTIVAL
CLASSIC ALBUM SUNDAYS / DAN ROCHE / BOUTIQUE CAMPING / THE HURLY BURLY – GRAND TEA PARTY & THE BUTTERLY BALL
Can you believe that it’s just four weeks until the gates open for our fifth Camp Bestival? The days are absolutely flying by but we still can’t wait until we’re frolicking on the Jurassic coast in the beautiful surrounds of Lulworth Castle for a whole weekend of festi-holiday fun from July 26-29.
Rob da Bank says: “The nooks and crannies of Camp Bestival are where I always end up…watching magical little theatrical things or a spot of spoken word or finding a new eatery I didn’t even know was on site. So I heartily recommend popping by Classic Album Sundays which is about the most relaxing experience you can have at Camp B, check out our mates the Hurly Burly’s ace new menus and theatrical shenanigans and grab one of the last few bits of luxury boutique camping onsite. Camp Bestival is set to sell out in the next few weeks so get in now…”
As ever, at the ultimate family festival, we’ll have much joy for all, from a stupendous music line-up that will see Hot Chip headlining Friday night, a triple-header of disco legends; the Earth Wind & Fire Experience featuring Al Mackay, Chic featuring Nile Rodgers and Kool & The Gang supplying the Saturday night fever and baggy kings Happy Mondays topping the bill on Sunday and loads more musical manna from Rizzle Kicks to Rolf Harris. The kids won’t know what’s hit them with Camp Bestival legend Mr. Tumble leading a host of riotous entertainment that includes The Gruffalo live, Fantastic Mr Fox The Opera, Shrek and the irrepressible Dick and Dom, plus they’ll be kept busy with 100s of Free Things for Kids including extreme sport action at the Freesports Park, pirouetting with the masters of the English National Ballet, burning off excess energy on the bouncy castles or being amazed by Silly Science and that doesn’t even scratch the surface. And we still haven’t touched on all the amazing Theatre, Circus, Spoken Word, How To… discussions and Comedy that’s sure to keep you beaming.
Adding to the weekend’s magic, we’re very pleased that Classic Album Sundays, the world’s most popular album listening session, will return to the Castle Playroom at Camp Bestival. They have a great line-up of albums this year including platters by The Beatles, Joni Mitchell, Kraftwerk and The Cure all played on an amazing hi-fi from Linn. The hour and a quarter sessions will take place from 11am through to 6pm Friday through Sunday including a Kids Morning Album Session where the young’uns can sit and draw to classics like “Thriller” and “Yellow Submarine”. Happy Listening!
Star of the hit BBC series Outnumbered, Dani’s House and Just William, we are delighted to be welcoming the brilliant young actor Dan Roche to Camp Bestival! He will be having a chat with us in the East Lulworth Literary Institute as well as helping out our wonderful charity friends, Pelican Post, over the weekend. Make sure you catch him!
