Tim Commerford’s Wakrat Offer Private Link To Album Via Republic Of Wakrat

SIGN UP TO BE A CITIZEN OF NEW PROTEST STATE ‘REPUBLIC OF WAKRAT’ AND RECEIVE PRIVATE LINK TO DEBUT ALBUM BEFORE ANYONE ELSE
One of the most anticipated punk records of the year is nearly upon us and now you can listen to full album for free (from Monday) by signing up to become a citizen of the new protest state ‘Republic Of Wakrat’.
In the words of Tim Commerford (Rage Against The Machine bassist and frontman of Wakrat) the protest state was formed to “throw a wrench in the establishment” and to offer an alternative to people who have become disillusioned with corrupt and elitist governments around the world as explained in the constitution:
“The current system is oppressive and elitist, promoting racist ideologies in order to push a self-serving agenda whilst an entire generation is put jeopardy. We condemn this behavior and Republic Of Wakrat exists to expose it.”
You can watch this audacious protest unfold in Wakrat’s official video for the track ‘Generation Fucked’ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkc2jhdFJXU
Explaining the legality of the daring manoeuvre on their website, the band highlight an ancient loophole which they say gives them the authority to start The Republic of Wakrat on what was formerly known as Parliament Square. The land now known as Westminster is actually an island called Thorney Island. Originally the property of King Offa back in the 700’s, Wakrat claim that it has never been officially claimed by anyone else: “this area remains the property of King Offa, Mercian King under his charter which is in [Westminster] Abbey”
Self described as ‘two French nationals and one American anarchist”, Wakrat are promising to shake up the system and attack modern music with their contemporary take on aggressive punk rock. Notorious for his infamous bass lines in Rage Against The Machine, Commerford fronts Wakrat on vocals and bass over a tight mix of punchy, rhythmic and dynamic punk rock, fuelled by political dissent, social commentary and an undiminished subversion and questioning of authority.
Sign to be a citizen at www.republicofwakrat.com and receive a link to the album on the eve of the US Election (Monday November 7th). The album will be available digitally from November 8th and physically from November 11th. CD and LPs are available at www.earache.com/wakrat
