Every winter, Vevo dscvr’s team selects their top tips for the coming year, and this time Tkay Maidza made the cut. Vevo’s UK and US chose their 20 favorite up-and-comers from both sides of the pond, ranging from Pharrell-approved folkie Maggie Rogers to grime’s hottest prospect AJ Tracey. Previous honorees have gone on to transatlantic chart success – just look at past selections Sam Smith, Years & Years and Alessia Cara. Normally, the program includes social promotion, a video interview and filmed live sessions, but this year Vevo have switched things up with a physical magazine featuring Tkay on the cover and within. Inside, Tkay reveals new details about her past, including being inspired by her dad’s musical career, while the interviewer describes her as a ’superior EDM chanteuse’.
