Sony Classical proudly announces the release of VEERAM (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack), featuring music by American composer Jeff Rona. The soundtrack is available worldwide digitally on January 27th.

Veeram is a cinematic adaptation of William Shakespeare’s dark tragedy Macbeth and is told in the backdrop of the ancient martial culture of Kerala. Directed by internationally acclaimed director Jayaraj, Veeram touches on the themes of greed, lust, cruelty, and betrayal through the heart wrenching and eternal story by one of the world’s most celebrated playwrights.

Dubbed the magnum opus of writer and director Jayaraj, Veeram is next in line of his Navarasa series, with the promise of an epic cinematic experience. Featuring film artists and technicians from several countries, Veeram was shot in three languages – English, Hindi and Malayalam. A culmination of creative grandeur and technological prowess, the film will combine the enigma of Kerala martial arts with the immortality of Shakespearian tragedy to lift the art of filmmaking to a whole new dimension.

The score to Veeram is equally ambitious and epic. Moving between grand orchestral themes and deeply emotional elements, the soundtrack brings together modern and traditional sounds and ideas. It tells the story not only of the conflict between the characters, but the conflict within each character.

Jeff Rona is a contemporary film composer and recording artist. The youngest son of European immigrants, he studied music, art & photography, but left school behind to pursue a life in music.
