“’Silent Partner’ is devastating, with his soft yet powerful voice married to a sparse, evocative arrangement.”- CLASH
“Brilliant material… sharp electronics and cooing vocals”- Art Rocker
“An undoubted nod to the falsetto theatrics of Thom Yorke”- NME
Tom the Lion unveils a new video for his single ‘Silent Partner’, lifted from his acclaimed debut album ’Sleep’. The single has been receiving strong airplay on BBC Introducing, BBC6Music and XFM.
The film was directed by Julian Harriman-Dickinson, co-founder of Creative Agency Harriman-Steel and commissioned by James Scroggs of HΩΩPMUSIC.
It features Rebecca Withey, a young deaf dancer and performer, signing the lyrics to ‘Silent Partner’.
Rebecca said of the film: “I love how its intimacy and sole focus on the signer really draws the viewer into a visual
world of sign and silence. The simplicity of the video and the song is beautiful and I’m very proud to have been involved in this.”
Tom just opened Germany’s Haldern Pop festival, joined Simon Raymonde on XFM Xposure for a session and interview on Wednesday this week, and plays Winterthur Musicfestwochen alongside Sohn in Switzerland tomorrow night. He performs live tracks on BBC Scotland’s Janice Forsyth show on Tuesday, then plays London’s Social as a duo on September 2nd and with his full band at the Sebright Arms on September 30th.
