Authentic storytelling is a radical act of love that can connect and heal our fractured world. In Hungry Hearts, a new essay collection edited by Jennifer Rudolph Walsh, sixteen powerful, honest, speakers and writers share their stories, allowing us to embrace each other in our full humanity. And now, these wonderful folks are coming to you in person—virtually, of course. Each evening, a panel of Hungry Hearts authors will gather onscreen to share their stories in an open, inspiring conversation centered on a particular theme. Each ticket includes admission to all three events.

Random House Book Club Happy HourWe Play OurselvesMonday, February 22, 7:30 PM ET

Have you ever wanted to flee to the other side of the country and start over after an embarrassing (okay, more like disastrous), career-torching moment? After a searing public shaming, Cass escapes to Los Angeles to reinvent herself. She falls in with her new neighbor Caroline, a charismatic filmmaker, and the pack of teenage girls who will star in Caroline’s next movie. But as time goes on, Cass becomes increasingly troubled by Caroline’s lies and manipulation. Can she put her own ambitions aside and do the right thing? Or does great art sometimes necessitate emotional casualties?

You’ll have no shortage of discussion topics with this novel, from deep questions about the price of fame to the psychology of professional rivalries and the pressure of potential.
