Toya Nash – Now What

Dallas native TOYA NASH’s pop infused R&B is a mix between the sassy sting of Tina Turner and the fearless lyrics of Kelly Rowland, bringing the soulful experience of classic soul divas into the modern music landscape.

Nash holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Acting from the prestigious Actors Studio Drama School in Manhattan.  The R&B songstress divides her time between acting and singing.  Nash will be soon seen in a supporting role in The Price of Fame on ReelZChannel and Amazon which will air this spring.

Nash released her first EP, Him, a slow-burning compilation that exhibits her powerhouse style dropped in 2012, followed by the single “Paradise,” in 2016.

Nash’s single “Now What” is her latest endeavour, released in July, followed by the accompanying music video.  It was recorded in LA with producer Patrick Perfetto and the video was choreographed by famed LA Choreographer Brooklyn Jai.

In the music video, when Nash finds out her boyfriend is cheating on her, she takes his car out for a ride.  By the end of the MV, Nash has taken the car to a secluded spot and has blown it to smithereens.  The video shows that the power lies within her as she gets over her ex.

“Now What” features strong vocals and dazzling showmanship filled with a commandeering spirit.  Nash really takes the lead with these powerful vocals.  The music on the upstart is energized, piquing off of chopped horn samples as Nash fluctuates from her mezzo-Soprano to a ready-set falsetto, sending listeners reeling with her visionary scintillating vibes.  Her style has a big boisterous sound filled with giant hooky choruses and a contagious energy.

TOYA NASH showcases a mad style overflowing with a happening attitude and a whole lot of sass.  An artist brimming with a whole lot of style, Nash shows she is at the top of her game with her latest single “Now What.”

According to the artist, “It’s about caring for someone deeply, having his back through his troubles, but realizing in the end that he doesn’t have your back in return, and is instead wreaking havoc and being reckless with your emotions.  The song is really about taking your power back and moving on with abandon.  It’s an anthem.” 7.6/10
