Mix of all album tracks
The idea for the album initially came from an essay by French philosophers Deleuze & Guattari. The idea being that the album should work as a pack and to understand the message each song would need to be present serving its function to the whole. Each song was written specifically in relation to a personally experienced aspect of the human condition. The themes include evolution, procrastination, dissatisfaction, extinction and distraction. (these are written under the track list on the album)
Trwbador also announce new UK shows:
21st Sept: Laugharne Festival
23rd Sept: Adam Walton (BBC Radio Wales) Presents, Telfords Warehouse, Chester
14th Oct: Huw Stephens Presents, The Social London
The record features guest appearances from UK Hip Hop longttmer ESSA aka Yungun (who features on ‘Breakthrough’ – ) and ex Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci songwriter Richard James. ‘Several Wolves’ sees TRWBADOR gradually leave the glitchy folk offerings of their Welsh Music Prize nominated debut and move forward with towards a more.
“A magic debut” – Q
“there’s also a bit of Trwbador influence there too, a group from Llandeilo that I really like … one of the tracks, ‘Builder of Routines’ is influenced by Trwbador.” – James Dean Bradfield, Manic Street Preachers talking about the new Manic’s album
“The most exciting band in Wales.” Huw Stephens, BBC Radio 1
Trwbador are a boy/girl duo from Carmarthenshire in South Wales featuring the exeptional talents of half Welsh, half Dutch singer and producer Angharad Van Rijswijk alongside the intricate guitar playing and productions of Owain Gwilym. Operating from the attic of a flat they share in rural West Wales, they create a unique blend of dance floor tinged acoustic electronica that has been catching the attention of national journalists and broadcasters since 2010..
They quickly garnered support from the likes of radio DJs, Huw Stephens, Adam Walton, Bethan Elfyn, Radcliffe and Maconie and Lauren Laverne. Their talent and beauty has not gone unoticed among fellow musicians either. Plaudits have come in thick and fast from artists such as James Dean Bradfield, Euros Childs, Laura J Martin and Cornershop.
All Trwbador music is released to the World via their very own cottage industry label Owlet Music. The duo’s songs have been soundtracking advert campaigns world wide over the last 2 years and have been heard performed live across the UK’s biggest festivals. 2014 is gathering pace for the duo and, following the August release of their second album, another single will be released in September before a UK tour in late October and a number of exciting announcements that will see the two progress to the next level.
