TWIN HAUS ANNOUNCE NEW EP ‘NOTHING LAVISH’ AND ARTWORK SERIES
“Brisbane’s Twin Haus proved themselves a band unafraid to merge off course into the far reaches of ambient, psych and noise” Rolling Stone
After wrapping up a huge year in 2015, Brisbane band Twin Haus are showing no signs of slowing down. Wasting no time at all, the boys were back in the studio putting the finishing touches on their latest EP, and now they’re ready to show you what they’ve been working on.
Nothing Lavish is a 4-track release that features some of, if not the, best work Twin Haus have ever created. Focussing on sonic journeys, the tracks are expansive, rich, meticulous and matured. From the 9 minute epic, Synthetic Egg, through to lead single I Used To Think, the band have pulled out all the stops here and in doing so, have created an epic experience to follow up their critically acclaimed debut, Waxen Myriad.
Speaking of pulling out all the stops, to coincide with the release, the band have teamed up with four artists from across the globe (London, Melbourne, Brisbane and Serbia) to create a collaborative artwork series. Each artist has created a piece of work that has been inspired by one of the tracks on the EP, and will be released one by one in the lead up to the EP release.
But that’s not all. The boys have also linked up with filmmakers Kids of Bill to create 30-40 second videos inspired by the tracks, and will also serve as a teaser for each one. Drip feeding it to their rapidly growing loyal fanbase, this will surely keep appetites for new material well and truly sated until their official EP launch on April 1 at local Brisbane venue, Woolly Mammoth.
Keep your eyes fixed on their Facebook page where you can keep up to date with each artwork release as we get closer and closer to the highly anticipated release of Nothing Lavish. Although the EP title might disagree, this is Twin Haus taking the next step in their incredibly promising journey, and one that is as intoxicating and enthralling as the EP itself.
