Two People return with intense, cryptic visual for ‘Something To Talk About’
The visuals for the track, directed by Dimitri Basil and Cooper Russel amplify the track’s synth laden allure, following three mysterious protagonists as their memories leave dramatic effects on them. Phoebe Lou’s vocals float delicately above the track’s driving instrumental, subtly narrating ‘Something To Talk About”s visuals yet simultaneously leaving enough intrigue to draw the viewer further into the video’s fascinating narrative. ‘Something To Talk About’ follows on from ‘I’m Tied, To You’, which was revealed as the first track from the duo’s debut LP. Like ‘I’m Tied, To You’, the track was mixed by revered Scottish producer Rodaidh McDonald, who has also finessed records from The xx, Sampha, Adele and King Krule.

Two People describe the darkly-shaded new offering as their ‘rock song’:
We wanted ‘Something To Talk About’ to have a driving, ominous force, with parts that a band would play but are programmed into pulsing synths and drum machines.
This is one of the few songs where we worked on the lyrics together. The story is about a memory where sensations are vivid, on the Australian shore one summer’s night. It is about being in a place that is beautiful to you, a place that speaks ’this is where you should be’. It’s familiar. But within you is a type of racing pain and fear. This builds to a confused and tense state where your inner self wants to flee but you are attached and at home in the landscape.
Two People are Phoebe Lou and Joseph Clough, who formed following the dissolution of their prior project Snakadaktal. Over the past two years, they’ve worked diligently to write, record and self-produce their LP at their studio and respective homes.
Live, Two People expand to a three-piece. Their sets are immersive experiences that exaggerate every sound, movement and feeling from their recordings.
