Brooklyn-based, indie rockers, Ula Ruth, announce the drop of their brand new EP and third release,Fever, due out later this Spring. This will serve as the follow-up EP to Restless Nights, which was produced by Chris Ruggiero and mixed by Greg Giorgio, who also worked on The National. The new collection of songs takes the band even deeper into dark pop territory than the last release, which is compiled of songs that Diffuser.fm say “resemble the steady pop of the Strokes combined with the playful nature of the Format.” Baeble Music rave, “Ula Ruth may just be the next up-and-coming indie rock sensation.”
The band – Nic James (vocals, rhythm guitar) Andrew LeCoche (lead guitar), Kevin Clymer (bass) and Luc James (drums) – formed in 2012 by brothers Nic and Luc, who named the band after their grandmother, Ula Ruth. Hailed by The Deli Magazine, Nic James is described as having “a growl that can compete with alternative rock’s best vocalists.” The band has been featured in Rolling Stone, Performer Magazine and Nylon Guys – just to name a few – and played iconic NYC venues, such as Rough Trade, Arlene’s Grocery, Mercury Lounge, along with shows at SXSW, CMJ, Kahbang Festival and a Northeast tour. They also opened for Paul Simon at a charity fundraiser. Amidst touring, the guys have been hard at work on Feverat Tarquin Studios (Interpol, The National, Local Natives) with a dream team of producers and engineers, including long time collaborator and producer, Chris Ruggiero. On this release, the band was inspired to polish their sound and create a recognizable maturity.
