Tae Sup wi’ a Fifer, the eclectic live music showcase curated by Fife-based singer-songwriter James Yorkston (Domino Records), is delighted to announce another run of three shows in the autumn-winter of 2017, taking place on Saturdays September 16, November 25 and December 2 at the Adam Smith Theatre in Kirkcaldy. Organised with support from Creative Scotland, each show will feature three varied and complimentary talents from different avenues of indie, rock, folk, electronic and spoken word performance – see below for full line-ups. Tae Sup wi’ a Fifer began in 2015, when James was invited to curate some live music and spoken word nights for the Adam Smith Theatre. Pretty soon the evening developed a reputation for its quality, diverse line-ups and laid-back, welcoming nature. There have been sets by all from Steve Mason to Dick Gaughan, Karine Polwart, Richard Dawson, Lisa O’Neill, Aidan O’Rourke, Bill Wells, Martin Carthy, Alexis Taylor, Linton Kwesi Johnson, Kathryn Joseph, Malcolm Middleton, King Creosote, Roddy Woomble, Yorkston Thorne Khan and many more. SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 16
The Vaselines are an Edinburgh-formed duo famous for being one of Kurt Cobain’s favourite bands, and for splitting up even before releasing their debut album. They reformed in 2008, releasing the triumphant V for Vaselines in 2014.
Salena Godden has been described as the ‘doyenne of the spoken word scene’ (BBC Radio 3). She writes and performs poetry, fiction, memoir, radio drama and lyrics salenagodden.co.uk
Marry Waterson & David A Jaycock are respectively a celebrated folk singer and guitarist. They have collaborated most recently on the critically-acclaimed album Death Had Quicker Wings Than Love marrywaterson.com
