More info:
Still teenagers, The Velvet Hands have caused quite a stir in the one year that they’ve been around. To date the band have clocked up 10,000 video views across YouTube and Facebook, and the seeds of a healthy following.
Self releasing their first two singles; ‘Games’ and ‘Habit’, they picked up some great online coverage, radio support from BBC Introducing and their first BBC 6 Music play from Radcliffe & Maconie. Support slots with The Bluetones, Yak and Wild Smiles followed.
Their first (white 7”) vinyl release, ‘Trains’ / ‘Curtains Closed’ (Easy Action Records) was a Record Store Day in April 2016. All 300 copies sold out on the day.
‘Trains’ won further airplay from Radcliffe & Maconie. The Velvet Hands also picked up plays from Steve Lamacq and Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Music, Gary Crowley on BBC London and continuing support from BBC Cornwall which resulted in appearances at Boardmasters Festival and Looe Festival.
Autumn 2016 saw the band booked by landmark music promoters including Mikey Jonn of This Feeling, Chris McCormack of Camden Rocks Festival, Mark Beaumont (NME/The Guardian) and other high profile interest. Their recent London appearance for This Feeling was a well received triumph, which has led to new possibilities for the future.
They begin 2017 in Troubadour Studios, Falmouth, working on their debut album which is scheduled for release on Easy Action Records in Summer.

Fusing anthems, art and youthful energy/articulation with hard work, The Velvet Hands gain new friends and interest with every show and release: Including new interest and acclaim, early doors, from Europe, Japan and USA media.
