Cornwall’s resurgence as the new home of rock ‘n’ roll shows no signs of waning with the emergence of The Velvet Hands. Following on from their debut double-A single Games/Who Cares [Oct, 2015], the four-piece are set to release a new single Habit on 4 March.

The Velvet Hands encompass elements of The Stroke’s D.I.Y high energy garage-rock and charismatic storytelling, but with a big dollop of snarling rock ‘n’ roll, it’s a sound 6 Music Dj, Tom Robinson’s FreshontheNet have aptly described as “a wonderful mess, a soundtrack for demolition.” For US blog Bucketfullofnails, The Velvet Hands are; “Brimming with youthful vigor and snarling attitude”.

The band’s raucous-yet-super-tight live sets (with early shows at Boardmasters plus support slots with The Bluetones, Wild Smiles, Yak and Lost Dawn) have been described as “full of bolshy spirit” [NME].  With Toby Mitchell and Dan Able  tussling for position at the mic there’s a punk-rock ethos at play both on record and live.

Habit was recorded by Ben Woods [of Lost Dawn] at The Troubadour Studios in Falmouth. The single is released digitally on the 11th of March via Jam x.
