VIGO THIEVES – ‘THIS LOVE’ NEW SINGLE RELEASED ON 3 MARCH

Oft described in the Scottish media as Scotland’s next most-likely-to, Vigo Thieves will release their new single, ‘This Love’, on vinyl, special limited edition CD and the usual download places on 3 March.

Produced by Lewis Gardiner (of the much-talked about Glasgow band Prides), ‘This Love’ is a massive slice of POP (yes, capitals all the way down) music with the band in trademarked heart-on-sleeve, anthemic loveliness and with a keyboard so catchy that it’d put the Australian cricket team to shame…OK, feel free to think of your own analogy… one thing’s for sure anyway, these boys certainly don’t do pop by halves.

Having spent 2013 playing (just about) every Scottish music festival, becoming the first unsigned band to sell out two consecutive nights at King Tuts, releasing the ‘Heart And Soul pt II EP’ and building a huge fanbase in Scotland, Vigo Thieves come into 2014 on more than a bit of a high – being tipped for 2014 by a number of Scottish newspapers and radio luminaries, a headline show booked at Glasgow’s rather large 02 ABC and with Visit Scotland having chosen ‘Believe’ as the soundbed for their new TV advert for Homecoming 2014 :

Not bad for an unsigned band from Wishaw.
“When writing ‘This Love’ I was listening to a lot of Roy Orbison and Bruce Springsteen, their songwriting definitely influenced ‘This Love’. The song is about having clarity in your life and how that only comes through a love of something and how you can’t do anything important in your life if you don’t have some sort of love for what you are doing.”
Stevie Jukes – Vigo Thieves

“The song is very Springsteen influenced so we wanted to have a big stadium sound in the mixing process. Big punchy drums and upfront vocals with soaring rock guitars. It’s a massive tune. ”
Lewis Gardiner – Mixer/Producer

Vigo Thieves are currently putting together tracks for their debut album but for now you can catch the band live on the following dates :
Mar 29              Glasgow 02 ABC
Mar 31              Nottingham Red Rooms
Apr 1                 London Sebright
Apr 2                 Bristol Thekla Top Deck
Apr 3                 Manchester Soup Kitchen
Apr 25               Dundee Fat Sams

“With Lewis from Prides adding oomph, and some blistering live performances, it looks like the Wishaw band’s time is about to come” – The Sunday Mail
“huge track !” – Ally McCrae, BBC Introducing with Jen and Ally
“with a line-up full of level heads and realistic expectations, they cannot fail” – Metro
“A fantastic band shooting for commercial glory with an arsenal to make it” – Daily Record
