RELEASES ‘I FOR AN EYE’ VIDEO

TRI-STATE TOUR STARTS TODAY

‘I For An Eye’ continues its on-air onslaught with the second single from Brisbane’s WAAX sitting atop community radio charts for weeks and bludgeoning its way onto to triple j spot rotation. Now, like a juggernaut that’s mowing down everything in its path, there are equally ferocious visuals to match as the band prepare to intimidate Melbourne audiences this weekend for the start of their tri-state tour.

Debuting via Music Feeds yesterday, the ‘I For An Eye’ video is a short, sharp two minutes and forty four seconds of revenge, reflection and revelry. Lead singer Marie De Vita storms into her friend’s houses, slightly crazed and on a mission to destroy any trace of vanity she can find. Introspective themes of comparison and envy emerge as the mirrors are repurposed and Marie turns into somewhat of a mirrorball-beast, deflecting all light in her path with gusto.

It’s a fitting narrative for this determined group of individuals who continue to do things instinctively and successfully their own way. ‘I For An Eye’ has already been added to spot-rotation on triple j, topped the AMRAP Metro Charts for two consecutive weeks and the 4ZZZ airplay charts for a solid five weeks and has become a favourite on triple j Unearthed.

Emerging late-2014 with ‘Wisdom Teeth’ and swiftly snaring a 2014 BIGSOUND showcase thanks to triple j Unearthed, the band quickly gathered a rabid fanbase as they mowed down rooms with the likes of Kingswood, The Delta Riggs and Stonefield.

With a debut EP due later this year and a second single to drop in the coming months, WAAX have a lot more to offer in 2015. Following this run of shows, they display their live prowess at BIGSOUND Live, Maroochy Festival and Red Deer Festival before an impending EP and tour towards the end of the year.
