Watch For In 2016: ASYLUMS

Hometown: Southend-on-Sea
What?: They may have only formed last year, but these Southend-on-Sea upstarts seem to be hurtling through their career at a urgent pace truly reflected by the break-neck music they make. Every song a riotous journey through some of alt-rock’s finest footnotes, the exuberant four piece have been making waves this year with an array of killer singles including the Radio 1 playlisted “Joy In A Small Wage” and ‘Missing Persons’ released on their very own Cool Thing Records. After taking on Glastonbury and a bunch of festivals over the summer, plus a relentless succession of enviable support slots with the likes of Killing Joke, Reverend & The Makers, Ash and The Enemy this Autumn, Asylums have proven they have what it takes to slay some of the county’s biggest venues already; 2016 will surely be theirs.
