MJ Cole and AJ Tracey are back today with the visuals for their explosive ode to London ‘The Rumble’, released on Ministry Of Sound and on MJ Cole’s new label 892 Recordings.
Directed by MOBO nominated director Reece Proctor and shot across different locations in London, the video joins the sweltering track in brilliantly capturing the exhilarating franticness at the heart of the multifaceted city.
Currently on the B-list at BBC 1Xtra and getting far-ranging specialist support across Radio 1, 6Music, Beats 1, Kiss FM, Capital Xtra and Rinse FM, ‘The Rumble’ brings together MJ Cole’s futuristic, bass-heavy production with AJ Tracey’s kaleidoscopic wordplay and crystal-clear delivery, making not only for a meeting point between one of the UK’s most revered club figureheads and one of its most exciting rising stars, but an urgent contemporary anthem for 2016 London.
The two artists recently teamed up for a 2-hour Notting Hill Carnival special on Rinse FM. Listen back to the show HERE.
MJ Cole: “My feet sensed the rumblings from the underground and I knew AJ Tracey was coming through. We hooked up in the studio at the start of 2016 and he laid down the idea on Scarface Riddim which I made with him in mind. The Rumble is a slice of London, the energy of now, a fusion of all that is exciting in the UK for us. We’re proud of this record and are excited to release it on the brand new 892 Recordings.”
