Lady Parts Justice

Exposes The Latest Creepy Texas Abortion

Law In a Hilarious Shark Tank Parody

“It would be funny if it weren’t so damn close to being true.”Huffington Post

Lady Parts Justice premieres a hilarious new video highlighting the horrifying absurdity of the latest proposed abortion regulations in Texas. This most recent unconstitutional scam mandates the burial of all fetal tissue from miscarriages, ectopic pregnancies, and abortions performed in all medical facilities in the state of Texas. LPJ exposes this latest sham by using the format of the popular reality show Shark Tank to point out the hypocrisy in this law and scathingly poke holes in the legitimacy of this horrible regulation. LPJ joins the ACLU in a pledge calling on politicians to put health above politics and stop unconstitutional regulations that block abortion access.
FUN FACT: Carol Everett, the character pitching the Sharks, is based on the real-life Carol Everett, a Texas anti-abortion extremist whose anti-science rhetoric actually influenced the Board of Health to pass this regulation. Footage of the actual Carol Everett spewing her fact-twisting fiction is featured at the end of this parody to highlight just how much powerful mis-information and non-facts are factored in when lawmakers decide to restrict access to abortion.

This video was made necessary as a result of recent Texas regulations mandating the burial of embryonic or fetal tissue resulting from an abortion or miscarriage. Thankfully, a federal court granted the request to temporarily block these new regulations in Texas designed to shame women and cut off access to abortion; however, there is much work to be done to shut down these regulations completely. We must make our voices heard. The ACLU is sending a message to politicians across the country that we are all watching what they do. We will all stand up to fight any attempt to restrict our access to abortion in any and all forms.
Lizz Winstead, LPJ founder, explains, “Relentlessly creating laws designed for no other reason than to destroy abortion access has become a 24/7 job. LPJ was created to expose them as fast as they can propose them. If we become a nation that entirely dismisses medical facts when making healthcare policy we will have lost. LPJ’s mission is to make sure that never happen!”

About Lady Parts Justice:
Lady Parts Justice is the first not safe for work, rapid response reproductive rights messaging hub that uses comedy, culture and digital media to sound an alarm about the terrifying erosion of reproductive access so people will get off their asses and reclaim their rights. Co-Founded by Daily Show Co-Creator Lizz Winstead, LPJ infuses humor into reproductive rights spaces while also dropping some knowledge and activism into our pop culture and social lives, inspiring folks who have not been active in the feminist and reproductive rights movements to get on board. Known for their hilariously engaging videos, in 2015 LPJ went high-tech and launched Hinder, an exciting app that helps followers keep track of all the unhinged anti-abortion zealots right in the palm of their hands! In 2016, LPJ premiered to critical acclaim “The Golden Probes,” a satirical awards show and fundraiser honoring outstanding achievement in sexism and anti-choice extremism.
The name Lady Parts is an homage to Lisa Brown, a former Michigan state rep who when in office was banned from the statehouse floor for using the word vagina when arguing against a transvaginal ultrasound bill. When she asked what she should say they suggested something less provocative like “lady parts.” The offensive nature of men uncomfortable with the word vagina, but perfectly comfortable legislating it, inspired both the name and mission of this innovatively groundbreaking reproductive rights organization. Lady Parts Justice is committed to diversity by creating content that fosters a multicultural, inclusive experience within the reproductive rights movement.
