London based Indie Darlings, whenyoung have returned with an EP of live tracks recorded during a storming set in Germany on their recent Europe-wide tour. Featuring blistering versions of ‘Labour of Love’, ‘The Others’, ‘Given Up’ and ‘Never Let Go’, the EP is the perfect snapshot of the band’s live show, full of passion, energy and huge tunes.
Released earlier this year, the band’s critically acclaimed debut album, ‘Reasons to Dream’ showcases Aoife Power’s (bass/vocals), Niall Burns’ (guitar) and Andrew Flood’s (Drums) ability to craft spikey yet melodic songs which delve lyrically into everything from love and insecurities to pacificism and the gap between the haves and have-nots in society today. The album marked the next milestone in a journey that started for the band when they first met as teenagers in Limerick, Ireland. They eventually all found themselves in London and the band that was to become whenyoung was formed, inspired by a mix of the music they all love and their collective interest in cinema and literature. Since the release of the album the band have been constantly on the road, playing festivals throughout the summer and completing their own UK headline tour in October. The band have also received love at Radio 1, with them recently joining Jack Saunders for a session at Maida Vale.
One of the most beloved live acts currently working in the UK, whenyoung are a band who are continuing on that journey with charm, talent and grace. Live in GermanyA Labour of LoveThe OthersGiven UpNever Let Go
