Wild Combination EP

Wild Combination EP

Wild combination have been steadily gathering praise from respectable sources ( Guardian Music Blog, Q Magazine ) and with this, their debut – free – EP it is quite easy to see why.

Wild Combination have drawn comparison to the likes of Foals but their particular brand of guitar led synth pop is more reminiscent of bands like Metronomy.

Lead track ‘When Were Together’ is melodic and breezy. This is relevant summer indie, pleasant and inoffensive but it lacks a much needed edge to make it stand out.
Far better is second track ‘Stay in sight of these shores’ pushing the guitars to the fore, it adds a vitality to their sound that they need in order to escape from the over crowded "sounds like Foals" scene. Slowing things down on EP closer ‘School Rules’ adds yet another dimension and proves that they are indeed worthy of the praise they are receiving.

All in all you can do a lot worse than downloading these 5 FREE tracks. 7.5/10
