Watch: Winstons – “Without You”
“Brooklyn by Virginia duo of Ben Brock Wilkes & Lou Nutting from Winstons have proved that the rural, rustic Americana primitive spirit of gritty rocking & rolling messy blues can be enjoyed anywhere east, west, north, south & anywhere in between.”
“Winstons make meat-and-potatoes garage-soul, the kind of no-frills rock that’s best enjoyed live, and they know this. That’s in part why the Brooklyn-by-way-of-Virginia duo, who met while working at Baby’s All Right, make a point of recording live to tape. No-touch ups, no retakes.”
“Without You”, an earnest recitation of deeper feeling invoked by the spirits of every great songwriter of the past. Heavy distortion backs the passionate confessions of hurt souls, with a simply from-the-heart chorus “Baby without you, I feel alone” bringing it all home.”

Impose has shared Winstons new video for their single “Without You”. It will be part of a release slated to come out later this year. They also recently released the single “Enough” on Brooklyn Vegan. The band released two EP’s in 2015 entitled ‘Turpentine’ & ‘Black Dust’. Both singles are out now via Grand Jury.
Winstons is a garage-soul duo out of Virginia, residing in Brooklyn. They do love songs, blue songs, and dance songs with drums, guitar, harmonies, and a harmonica. Their live show is raw and earnest, with a dynamic juxtaposing devotion and depravity. Their sound has drawn comparisons to Screaming’ Jay Hawkins and The Cramps. They self-released two EPs in 2015.
