About

Today, the French dance-pop duo YELLE returns with a brand new single and video for “Ici & Maintenant” (Here & Now) HERE. The video was premiered via FADER HERE, who described it as “surreal, sweet and soothing”. The single is available HERE.

Ici & Maintenant (Here & Now)” is co-produced by GrandMarnier and Vaughn Oliver and released on her own label Recreation Center. It sees YELLE reflecting on her urge to be connected fully to the present moment. Not yesterday, not tomorrow. Here, and now.

The video was shot in Los Angeles, directed by Paul B. Cummings and Jean-François Perrier, and has a video-long cameo from Nathan Barnatt. As usual the music and visuals are portraying a silly, anything-goes left-field pop outlook.

“After 3 albums and crazy intense touring over the world, we felt we needed to pause, not looking at the past or being in loops about what is next all the time, no, instead we want to be connected to the present. Here and Now. That’s exactly the idea behind the song. that’s our state of mind. Being simply and fully in the moment.

The video reflects that, it’s very here & now, super extra normal! We made it with our friend Nathan Barnatt who we met a few years ago after he’d done a ‘fan’ video of our “Que Veux tu” song remixed by Madeon.

Normcore to the four on the floor!”YELLE (Julie Budet & GrandMarnier)

About YELLE:

YELLE were founded in 2005 when longtime friends Julie Budet (who took the stage name YELLE) and Jean-François Perrier (known as GrandMarnier) decided it was time to start a band.

Their first single – “Je Veux Te Voir” – surfaced on MySpace the same year and soon became an indie sensation internationally.

Pop Up, YELLE’s debut album was released by Source Records in 2007 and the band then spent nearly three years touring the world over before work on its second album began. They also found time to work with Robyn and Crookers, and to remix Katy Perry‘s “Hot & Cold.”

After working virtually nonstop for two years on album number two, Safari Disco Club was released in the spring of 2011 on Recreation Center/Cooperative Music and was followed by extensive international touring again.

On their third album, YELLE worked with Dr. Luke and his team of producers and ultimately signed to the pop hitmaker’s Kemosabe label. Though it was a little more focused than previous efforts, 2014’s Complètement Fou was still imbued with a fun-loving pop.
