YOUNGHUSBAND – NEW SINGLE ‘COMETS CROSSED’ / ‘DROMES’
RELEASED ON 18TH MARCH 2013
London four-piece, younghusband are set to release their new single, the band’s third single release, on the 18th of March 2013.
A Double A – Side, ‘Comets Crossed’ and ‘Dromes’ were recorded with New York based producer Nicolas Vernhes, best known for his work with Animal Collective, Deerhunter, Bjork and Dirty Projectors, and is taste of what to expect from their debut album which is set for release later this year.
Frontman, Euan Hinshelwood, says of ‘Comets Crossed’ that it “was the first track we recorded with Nicolas. Fresh eyed, eared; it has this woozy, nervous excitement which comes from that but also a confidence we’ve never fully realised before”.
Formed in 2011, the younghusband line-up of Pete Baker (drums/pads), Adam Beach (guitar), Joe Chilton (Bass/vocals) and Euan Hinshelwood (vocals/keyboards/guitar) have released two critically acclaimed singles, the debut double A Side ‘Carousel’ / ‘Nothing, Nothing’ on Too Pure and the ‘Crystal’ EP which was released on Sonic Cathedral.
Their mix of lo-fi pyschedelia, kraut, ’60s soul and ambient pop have seen them build a growing fanbase that includes Zane Lowe, Marc Riley, Guy Garvey and Jarvis Cocker.
To coincide with the single release, younghusband will be hosting their own residency at London’s Babble Jar on Stoke Newington High Street in London in March and April. They launch on the 21st of March prior to nights on the 4th and 18th of April. Details of support bands will added soon.
