Zara Larsson drops new holiday tracks ‘Memory Lane

Zara Larsson has today dropped new tracks ‘Memory Lane / Winter Song’, taken from her forthcoming Holiday EP Honor The Light – due out December 1st, and set to accompany her intimate Swedish shows & filmed special this Christmas.

Zara is currently riding the wave of latest hit ‘On My Love’. Her David Guetta collaboration reached #21 in the UK charts last week and continues to climb across playlists and airwaves alike following Larsson’s memorable ‘Strictly’ routine. ‘On My Love’ is the latest preview of Zara Larsson’s upcoming album Venus, which will see a release on February 9th and was launched alongside news of a world tour (an extra London date at The Roundhouse has been added due to demand).

A contemporary lens on her origin-story, Honor The Light shows off new sides of Zara Larsson. ‘Memory Lane’ is a brand new song written alongside seminal Swedish duo First Aid Kit – who also featured on an alternative version of Poster Girl deep-cut, ‘I Need Love’ – with additional production from Max Martin’s MXM team; here is a winter-walk through Stockholm past and present, a coming-of-age tale where “I thank myself for who I became”. ‘Winter Song’, meanwhile, reimagines the seasonal Sara Bareilles and Ingrid Michaelson favourite, with the EP wrapping up songs in the local, Lucia tradition alongside Christmas classics (see below for full track-list). It will be debuted as part of Larsson’s three-act, Honor The Light live shows this December, which feature Unplugged-style reworks of her catalogue and culminates in the kind of all-singing, all-dancing pop spectacular only Zara could pull off.

With her elevated sound, eclectic style and unifying visuals, Zara Larsson is one of modern pop’s most essential stars. It’s an evolution she takes to the next level on 2024’s upcoming album, Venus: introduced by latest single ‘On My Love’, and previewed earlier this year by suitably-unstoppable hit ‘Can’t Tame Her’. The album marks Zara’s first release on her own Sommer House label, following a trailblazing deal with Sony which saw the still-just-25-year-old simultaneously take control of her entire recording catalogue.
