Zara Larsson makes a surprise appearance at PinkPantheress’ Coachella set to announce ‘Midnight Sun

GRAMMY® Award-nominated global pop superstar Zara Larsson surprised Coachella Weekend 2 audiences by joining PinkPantheress during her blowout set in the Mojave tent. Zara performed her silver-certified hit “Midnight Sun” and announced the upcomingMidnight Sun: Girls Trip, due to arrive May 1. The artwork shows the Swedish powerhouse atop a hot pink hot rod on the open road. It’s time to buckle up – summer isn’t over yet.

In addition to cementing the creative chemistry between the two artists, the euphoric onstage moment was the cherry on top of a massive week for Zara who just dropped 24-karat new single ‘She Did It Again’ with Tyla. She has also racked up no less than five American Music Award nominations: Breakthrough Pop Artist; Breakthrough Album of the Year for 2025’s acclaimed Midnight Sun; Social Song of the Year for her viral hit ‘Lush Life’, and both Song of the Summer and Collaboration of the Year for “Stateside,” her team-up with PinkPantheress which US figure-skating champ Alysa Liu performed to for her exhibition performance at the 2026 Winter Olympics.

Speculation about Midnight Sun: Girls Trip has been sparked by cryptic posts on Zara’s socials. In one image, she holds up a “Girls Trip” map that shows 12 flower icons scattered across the globe — fans have theorised that each one corresponds to a potential artist feature. She also uploaded photos of a suitcase covered with brightly airbrushed images, as well what seems to be a carefully curated selection of items in her luggage, writing, “Packed and ready for my Girls Trip.”

Though we’re only four months into 2026, Zara’s Coachella victory lap already feels overdue. She scored her career-first GRAMMY® nomination in February for ‘Midnight Sun’ (Best Dance Pop Recording), and after her zeitgeist-defining tour which has captured the world’s attention, she will be headlining BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend and All Points East this summer. In October, the Midnight Sun Tour will pick up again with an Australia/New Zealand arena tour. Pre-sale sold out in less than 2 hours, and more than 6 months in advance.

Midnight Sun is Zara’s fourth international album. About Zara Larsson

On her fourth studio album, Midnight Sun, Swedish pop sensation Zara Larsson had a goal: “I wanted the whole album to feel like it’s a summer night and it never ends,” she says. “A part of my soul is a Swedish summer night. This record encompasses that: how life is so beautiful it makes you cry.” Once she put together her team of collaborators — “Never Forget You” collaborator MNEK, up-and-coming producer Margo XS, and songwriter Helena Gao — the core four got to work. On day one, they made lead singles “Midnight Sun” and lead single “Pretty Ugly”, realising quickly that there was magic in the room. They felt an energy that connected them, emboldening her to be open, vulnerable, raw, and real.

Midnight Sun ripples with that same confidence and trust.
